Anticipations for Face to Face Negotiation between TFG and Opposition.

Mogadishu, (InsideSomalia.org) Anticipations for talks between Somalia government and opposition group are imminent, said government official in Mogadishu.   

This comes after Sheikh Sharif Sheikh Ahmed, the leader of the main Somali opposition group based in Asmara, the capital of Eriteria said on Saturday that group plea for talks with the government led by Premier Nur Hassan Hussien with out preconditions.

 

"But first the premier ought to make clear on his own standpoint on Ethiopian troops presence in Somalia" said Sheikh Sharif, chairman of Alliance for the liberation of Somalia founded in Asmara, the capital of Eritrea, an arch foe of Ethiopia.

 

The exiled former leader of Union of Islamic Courts who is in Doha, Qatar said that their alliance is ready involving resolve Somali crisis and hoped that inclusive dialogue will take place in Cairo, Egypt where the Arab league is to be sponsored formal face-to face talks between Somali government and opposition groups fighting government and their allied Ethiopian troops in the capital, Mogadishu. 

 

Other reports indicate that Somali Prime Minister Nur Hassan Hussein might visit Eritrea soon possibly with in two days to have direct talks with members of the Alliance led by Sheikh Sharif and senior officials from the Ereterian government including President Effawerke himself.

 

Senior government official speaking in anonymity said that the premier may start his visit to Eriteria today, but no other confirmations were received.

“He will talk to everybody whose desire is support prevail peace and security in Somalia" said the official.

Somali Prime Minister Nur Hassan Hussein repeatedly said the government wishes a plan to have a dialogue with its opposition including insurgents fighting government and Ethiopian troops in the Street of Mogadishu.

In other developments members of Union of Islamic Courts ousted from the Mogadishu and southern parts of Somalia in 2006 and members from Alliance for Liberation of Somalia are having a meeting in Dhobely, a southern town close to kismayu reported preparing an attack to recapture the port ton of Kismayu.

 

Local authorities show concern over the dual parts conference in Dhobley believed to be the main stronghold of the members of UIC since 2006.
